I finally took the leap.
For years, I had been using drugstore cosmetics and body care products. Let’s be honest, they’re convenient and, more importantly, they’re inexpensive. However, my skin would like to argue otherwise. Over the past six months or so, I noticed that my morning regimen was becoming less enjoyable and more of a hunt for blemishes. Perhaps it’s because I’m fair-skinned or maybe it’s because of the harsh desert climate I live in, but either way, dry patches and irritation are no fun whatsoever. Enough was enough!
A few months back, I made my way over to Citrine Natural Beauty Bar to get my questions answered. Better yet, I left with my solution. Nowadays, I’m making a conscious effort to use natural, organic, and non-toxic ingredients that I can actually pronounce, like coconut oil, shea butter, and bees wax.
This transition has allowed me the opportunity build a great relationship with the ladies over at Citrine, so when they asked me to cover their Tata Harper event last week, you can only imagine my excitement. It was such a pleasure meeting Tata and learning more about her incredible line, not to mention the tasty snacks and beverages that were provided by my favorite juice bar here in Scottsdale, Kaleidoscope. The passion she has for her health and the health of others is truly inspiring; it radiates, just like her flawless skin. At the end of the night, I wound up leaving with the Restorative Eye Creme and let me tell you, it is out of this world amazing! I like to apply it around my eyes, but also around my lips. It’s a miracle in a little green bottle.
Some of my other favorite products that Citrine carries would have to be the May Lindstrom Honey Mud Mask, as well as the RMS Un-Cover Up and Living Luminizer, not to mention the Perfekt Lash Gel. What’s great about the mask is that you can use it as such one to two times per week or just as a normal face wash in the shower. After drying off and moisturizing with oil and sunscreen, I then swipe the un-cover up and luminizer onto the apples of my cheeks, followed by a coating of mascara. It’s a very minimal, “don’t feel like wearing makeup, but still want to look fresh and polished” look. All four, paired with my Tata Harper product, give me that soft glow without ever feeling too greasy or heavy.
Is it realistic for me to walk into Target, browse the beauty aisle, and then proceed to not try anything? Never. It’s Target we’re talking about here! Sometimes you just have to cave and play around with the latest Covergirl lip gloss, but this recent investment of mine was about something far bigger than a guilty pleasure now and then. I was in need of a change and not just a temporary one; one that I was going to benefit from years down the road. I feel healthy, I look healthy, and that is what I find to be most important.
What goes onto your body also goes into your body, so why not make it fun and start with makeup? Learn more here!
A huge thank you to Citrine Natural Beauty Bar and Tata Harper for supporting this post.
