My in-laws recently moved down to Tennessee.
To say that I’m excited for them is an understatement, but is it selfish to say that I’m also excited for myself? This is a part of the country I’ve yet to explore. Seriously! I grew up in the Midwest, lived in the Southwest, vacationed on the West Coast, and traveled throughout the East Coast, but I’ve never truly experienced the South. Andrew and I figured this past weekend would be the perfect opportunity to do that given the Easter holiday.
Our trip was short, but sweet. We arrived late Friday afternoon, just in time for a relaxing family dinner at our aunt and uncle’s in Brentwood. On Saturday, we ventured over to Nashville to see our cousin’s new home and then out to Lynchburg for a tasting tour at the Jack Daniel’s Distillery. The weather could not have been more perfect and the whiskey could not have been more delicious. I was especially fond of the honey infused one! Of course, we had to end our day with barbecue – lots and lots of barbecue – only to come home, watch a movie, and slip into a chocolate-induced coma.
We’re looking forward to many more visits like this! What are some other must-sees that should be added to our list?
